Release date and the delay record

The date has moved twice, and the whole history is official: Fall 2025 (the original window) → May 26, 2026 (the first firm date) → November 19, 2026, the current date, confirmed by Rockstar and carried in Take-Two’s investor materials. Both delays were attributed to finishing quality, and nothing more specific exists on the record. Platforms

PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. That’s the complete official list. The last-gen consoles are not getting the game, and PC is not announced — every “GTA 6 PC requirements” page you’ve seen is guesswork, as the PC guide explains. Rockstar’s own pattern (GTA 5 and RDR2 both reached PC later) makes an eventual port likely, but that’s precedent, not an announcement — the honest breakdown is in platforms and on the PC hub.

Price, editions, pre-orders

• Standard Edition — $79.99 US, digital or boxed code-in-box.
• Ultimate Edition — $99.99, digital only. No Collector’s Edition exists.
• Pre-orders before November 20 add the Vintage Vice City Pack; digital pre-orders also include one month of GTA+.

Story and cast

Rockstar’s premise: Lucia Caminos and Jason Duval, a modern Bonnie-and-Clyde crime story — the series’ first female lead in the modern era. What’s confirmed about the setup: Lucia opens the story leaving Leonida Penitentiary (her jumpsuit and the facility appear across the trailers), and Jason is an ex-military Keys local scraping by on smuggler work. The confirmed supporting cast from Rockstar’s official artwork — Cal Hampton, Boobie Ike, Brian Heder, Raul Bautista, DreQuan Priest, Real Dimez — is profiled on the characters page. The world: Leonida and its six regions

The game covers the whole state of Leonida, not just one city. Six named regions are confirmed: Vice City (the Miami-inspired metropolis), the Leonida Keys, Grassrivers (Everglades-style wetlands), Port Gellhorn (industrial gulf coast), Mount Kalaga National Park, and Ambrosia (rural farmland). Every confirmed place is pinned on the interactive map and detailed across 62 location pages.

What is not confirmed: the map’s size. No official square mileage exists; community estimates of roughly 1.5–2× GTA 5 are fan measurement of trailer and leak footage, labeled as such in how big is the map? and the GTA 5 comparison. The trailers — the primary sources

Two official trailers exist, and they’re where most confirmed facts come from:

• Trailer 1 — December 4, 2023, set to Tom Petty’s Love Is a Long Road. Introduced Lucia, Leonida, and the tone.
• Trailer 2 — May 2025, set to The Pointer Sisters’ Hot Together. Jason and Lucia together, plus the deepest look yet at the regions.

Gameplay: thin on the record, honestly

This is the section where most “everything we know” pages pad with rumor. The truth: Rockstar has confirmed far less about moment-to-moment gameplay than about the world and cast. What the trailers show — driving, gunplay, swimming, flying, interiors, crowds — is analyzed shot-by-shot in driving & combat, swimming, and flying, each labeled trailer-analysis rather than spec-sheet fact. Online: after launch, not day one
