What we know about Leonida Penitentiary
The prison is first depicted in the game's first trailer (0:03), where Lucia Caminos is shown incarcerated. It is located southwest of Vice City. The name badge worn by Stefanie, a correctional social worker at the prison, and the jumpsuit worn by Lucia, indicate that the prison is operated by the Leonida Department of Corrections (LDC). In the second trailer (0:50), the prison is shown again as Jason drives there and interacts with a corrections officer at its reception area to pick up a released Lucia. The prison also appears in an official screenshot, where Lucia, in handcuffs, is seen inside the prison being escorted alongside other inmates.

Real-world inspiration analysis
The prison's design appears to be primarily inspired by the New River Correctional Institution in Bradford County, Florida, while its location southwest of Vice City, in Hamlet, is similar to that of the Homestead Correctional Institution in Homestead, Florida. The prison's watchtowers also seem to draw influence from those at the Wakulla Correctional Institution in Wakulla County, Florida.
