Rockstar builds cities out of details nobody asked for, and Leonida’s sports scene is already on the record. Confirmed through official material:
- Vice City Manatees — professional football, playing in the American Football Federation (AFF), the universe’s NFL parody. Naming your football team after the ocean’s slowest mammal is peak Florida satire.
- Vice City Narcos — professional basketball in the League of Basketball (LOB), a league that debuted as set dressing in GTA 5 and carries over — a small but real piece of HD Universe continuity. And yes, the team is called the Narcos. In Vice City.
One more — the Vice City Mambas football team — exists only in leaked
material, so it wears our leaked label.
What teams mean for the game
Almost certainly: nothing playable, everything atmospheric. Team fiction is how Rockstar makes Vice City feel inhabited — jerseys on pedestrians, stadium billboards, sports-radio arguments between songs. GTA 5’s LOB existed entirely in ads and merchandise. No official material shows attendable or playable pro sports, and we’d bet against it (labeled analysis) — Rockstar’s satire works better on a billboard than a court.
